Last night PJ and I went to the Hicks Nursery Flower and Garden Show. This was a special reception for the 'professionals' before they open it up to the public.
We were greatly impressed at how much Hicks has changed over the years. PJ worked there about 35 years ago and boy, it certainly changed since then!
The gardens were all made by outside Landscape Architects and businesses that do paving, plantings etc to create these beautiful gardens.
It really brought me back to the past. Here I was... being able to actually understand and add to the conversations about pesticides,
Long Horn Asian Beetles, Mealy Bug on Poinsettias etc. I was quite proud of myself!
We bumped into quite a few people that we knew. We even went to TGIF's afterwards to catch up with Billy and Laura C. We had a very enjoyable evening and saw some beautiful gardens!
I know this is a double picture but Blogger isn't letting me delete it!

This week, it has been so beautiful outside. A week and a half ago we had almost a foot of snow and today, it hit 59 degrees!! I had to take a nice, peaceful stroll along the water at Jones Beach.

I used to look through these things all the time when I was a kid. You put a quarter in and the binocular power comes on for a few minutes. I took this picture because it reminded me of the smiles that are captured on odd objects commercial. I forgot what the commercial is for though!

The insurance company finally gave us the 'go ahead' to be able to dispose of Alyssa's car.
I put Alyssa's banged up car on Craigslist yesterday. Within 2 hours we had someone interested. The guy came over right away with his family and bought it!
This was a HAPPY MOMENT to see that after 5 MONTHS of it sitting in my driveway, 'Lily' will be in her next home! Now we will have room in the driveway for 2 WORKING cars!!

I was supposed to work today but things got mixed up and I was never put in for the job. PJ had taken off to go skiing. He loves to ski and hasn't gone in a few years. He went to Catamount in VT.
Today will be a great day to pack up my supplies for tomorrow nights fundraiser crop at St Wills. J,M and I enjoy this crop very much! I hope we're all winners of raffles!
I watched last nights girls night of American idol this morning. Siobhan is my pick as a top 2 performer. She's a uniquely beautiful girl. get those teeth made even and I can see model potential also! But that high note... as Randy would say...
that note was DOPE girl!!

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY!

Yesterday we went to a few garage sales. We got this pretty glass greenhouse for $4. I love it! PJ brought home some Primrose, basil and cilantro that he was growing at work. I put the basil and cilantro in there to keep it nice and 'tropical'. I LOVE it!!

HAPPY SNOW DAY!

Here we go again! Another snow storm! This one is going to continue on and off until tomorrow! At 10:00 AM, I took this picture. I walked to the middle of my lawn where it was flat so it would be accurate. The ruler says 10 1/2"! YET if I look across the street, those neighbors only have about 6"! They own trees, I don't!
I'm so tired of shoveling. I need and want a snow blower. With Scott away, Alyssa's bad back and PJ at work, it's all me doing the shoveling. Mike usually does my sidewalk but he's at work today.

Today was such a gloomy, rainy, yucky day. I decided to clean off the desk in my dining room where I keep my plants for the winter. It's the only sunny spot in the house. They're all bunched on the top of the desk because I have too many plants and not enough space! Hidden behind the still beautiful Poinsettia is my orchid. As I went to move it I noticed that one of the buds was open and in full bloom! To me... this means Spring isn't far away!!!

This past weekend was a very busy one when I came to de-cluttering. I cleaned out my craft closet last week and I was waiting for PJ to cut a piece of wood to make an extra shelf to put in the closet. I needed to reorganize my scrapbook supplies because they were taking over the room. I still had some stacking bins from my last job. They were closing up shop and the boss gave them to me for my scrapping supplies. It worked out great that I'm friends with that boss!
I think it turned out pretty nice. I can now actually SEE what I have and start using things that have been hidden! Now I need a few more closets because this is just the tip of the iceberg!!!!
